delivery of a porsche 918 spyder

i was lucky and at mckenna porsche while they were taking delivery of a 918.

sorry for the less than average pics but it was a tight fit in there and i'm not much of a photographer.

they were kind enough to let me jump in there real quick with my phone. not every day you get to hang out with an almost $1,000,000 car.

Isn't that a Weissach? Puts it pretty much at 7 figures if so.

I don't really love the styling, the CGT looks a bit better, but since I have a Cayman budget, no one should care.

i'm not sure. it's the first one i've seen and i just jumped at it. lol

i don't mind the styling but kinda wish it wasn't matte black as i'm really over the matte craze.

either way, i felt a lil emotional after i left. is that weird?

Haha, I think that's normal, unless the symptoms last longer than Ishtar.

My timekilling on the Porsche site makes me think the matte black is just a non painted carbon body and part of the Weissach package if you don't choose the Martini or other stripe option.

Shocker.

If Porsche built a panel van you'd extol it's values all day.

hahah i feel ya, man.

sure it, looks tough at first but there's nothing like that polished perfection on what some would call a hypercar.

i think it reminds me of when i use to spray paint crappy bikes when i was a kid.

a hypercar should not look like my old spray-painted bike.

I know right? Can't go to any thread that has anything Porsche related without having to hear from Wolf.

Personally, I think there are way better looking 918s out there. Not a fan of the matte paint on this car. Not that I wouldn't take one if the keys were given to me, but still

Love, love the car, love it. But, leave it so SoCal to have it in F**KING GRAY!!!

Most depressing, mono-chromatic place on the planet.

I agree. It cheapens almost any car it's put on.

Saw an F1 this weekend and would still take it over the P1.

Mark Cuban?

I've seen a remarkable amount of exotic cars in my life however I've never seen an F1 in the flesh. There are several around here (Ralph Lauren has three, Peter Sachs has one, Gary Schaevitz has two, Herb Chambers has one) but sightings remain elusive.

Likely, it was going the other way and all I could see was a passenger in the left seat. There are a few Bugs in town, but I think Cuban has the only F1.

How much will it cost to make an E30 M3 handle, perform as good as the almost $ million Porsche?

To make it handle and perform better than this car.....the E30 M3 will not be street legal or just barely street legal.

It would essentially have to be a whole new car from the ground up. Interior stripped, bigger/better engine, whole new suspension setup and a set of nearly non-street legal tires. But then you have what? All this time and money spent into a car that performs the same or better than a stock 918?

You'll be better off buying a C7 Z06 and doing some minor upgrades to it.

I like to autocross, the C7 Z06 might be too bulky and wide on tight ax courses. :-(

How much for an E30 M3 like the one below but that's barely street legal?
