SP-Daten 2.54 / v54

Hello,

Does anyone have a good link for this? Only ones I have found are multiple 2gb links, that download at about 10kb/s.

Just had my DME/modules fully updated by the dealer and I assume I will need the latest SP-Daten to re-code everything.

Thanks

As the E-series are not manufactured anymore: is there any advantage of using newer SP-Daten? Is there a sort of changelog available of the Daten-versions?

Secondly, can you always use a newer version of SP-Daten (interdependencies with other software)?

The E60 and the R56 has a new I level while everything remains the same. So unless you have these two chassis then no need to do the update

There are some changes, depends on chassis. There isn't a log but there are spreadsheets released telling you the I-LEVEL has been updated for a particular chassis.

Sometimes I-LEVEL will not change for several daten releases.

However it's difficult to see if E89 development has ceased. BMW now use FASTA DATA from ISTA-D when vehicles go to the dealer for diagnostics. This data is used for several things, one of which is research which could lead to bug fixes etc.

Even though the E-Series are not in production anymore, they do still have to service them and many are still under warranty.
The reason you update is if in the case of your car's software was updated by a dealer.. Newer datens are backwards compatible with older software to cars.

OK, so it's not very clear what's new in v54 compared to the 50.1 regarding the E89-chassis code, but the Daten-files are backwards compatible so no risk in using/upgrading to the latest Daten-file version.

Thanks guys!

Can you just download the stuff for your chassis ?
And the program files.
Are the installation instructions inside ?
and will this run with a cable only ?
Will this run on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?

I do read in the full description of 808AWD325xi that the latest SP Daten files are German metric and do not work properly with INPA 5.0.2 and friends:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=918608
So, if you would like to have English, then you should stick to INPA 5.0.2 and SP-Daten 50.2 (and not this V54)?

Anyone that can confirm this?

Yes, my DIY still applies. To setup BMW Standard Tools 2.12, you just need the E89 folder from the SP daten.

The version of the SP daten required depends upon your vehicles integration level. This is explained in my BMW Standard Tools 2.12 FAQ:

Thanks, I got it all setup and I think it works (no errors when i run INPA). Will connnect to vehicle later on this week and check what I get via vehicle Info etc.

The main purpose I need this is because I'm replacing a Cyl 1 Fuel Injector and need to re-code the new one.

Can I do this via INPA only, or do I need to run the other utilities such as Win KFP?

For anyone else that is interested in the fuel injector DIY, I found this:

However the guy doesn't go into detail how to write/save the changes done in INPA. I am assuming here that they are saved once you exit/back ?

Yes, you only need to use INPA to calibrate your fuel injector.

That's correct, the new values are saved upon entry.
