Turbo whine / sirene after dp's
Hey guys,
Just installed my dp's and took it for a ride. I'm getting s pretty loud turbo whine. Didn't whine at all before the install. Did I not install something right, maybe not clamped in right on the turbos ? I had the same mods on my previous 335i but no whine at all... It does it under 4000 rpm low load.. Not at wot. The stock downpipes are double walled.....so they dampen a lot of the mechanical noises that people start hearing when they install aftermarket downpipes....which are single wall construction.
It is pretty common to hear your turbos spooling (whine) at low throttle, low rpms (1500-2500 rpms) so unless it's really loud, consider it normal. Some get the noise and some don't.....about 50/50. If your turbos are holding their boost targets then they will be fine. |

Same this happened to me after installing my borla catback. That was in August, but everything seems to be running fine and logs look fine. It is annoying though.
