Any help with current discounts

Hi does any body know what discounts are being offered by dealers this january 08.The reason i ask is a friend of mine who has worked for bmw 20 + years has mailed me asking for this sites address and wondered what discounts are being thrown around .Can any body help i just looked at coast2coastcars.com and it looks like the discounts are well down maybe 9% from around 14% any help would be very much appreciated the guy is a good lad and id like some input from the guys on here as you seem very well informed thanks in advance

I got 10%, but that was December, not Jan.

was speaking to a $tealer today and happened to ask about pricing policy - he stated that there is a steer from BMW Uk to reign back the discounts. he thought perhaps at the end of the month it could be SALE time though as they will be eager to hit target

You'd be doing very well to get 10% at the moment, the 9% you found is pretty realistic.

The latest issue of What Car is showing no discounts on any of the BMW ranges (none that I saw anyway).
I'm sure market forces will push prices down though,it's just a question of how forceful one can be, and how many dealer's you are prepared to visit.

I am being told that all the dealer has is 10%, and thats only on certain models, and they are going to want some on that!!!

The sytner from where my car is from will now only offers significant discounts on X3's. All other models are subject to BMW AG's new iron fist policy of stifling competition!!! I am assuming discounts on the X3 are because nobody wants one.

Over the last 6 weeks, the exchange rate has moved from euro 1.54 to £1 to Euro 1.34 to £1. This will hve a big impact on pricing and is the main reason why there are no discounts. I would not expect to see discounts until the exchange rate improves. Why would BMW sell cars more cheaply in the UK, when they can sell the same car for more euro's in europe!
