Angry NEED HELP: 29E0 and 29E1 codes keep coming back

Hey guys,

I've got a 2010 E92 335i that I've had some lean fuel condition problems with and my shop and I are at the end of our rope and can't figure this thing out. We've done everything we can think of and the codes keep coming back. Any and all input/ideas/suggestions will be welcomed. Thanks.

Mods on car:
COBB Stage 2+ Aggressive Tune
Stett V2 cold air intake
Stett charge pipe with TiAL BOV (11psi spring)
ETS 5" FMIC
Active Autowerke catless downpipes
Active Autowerke signature catback exhaust

additional suspension and lsd mods shouldn't have any bearing on the issues so I'm not listing them here.

Codes are present regardless of whether or not the tune is installed.

Car has 67K miles on it and so far we've done all of the following:
Walnut blasted intake valves at approx 42K
Spark plugs changed at 50K
Coil packs all replaced around 57K
Main O2 sensors replaced around 60K
Injectors replaced around 64K
HPFP replaced under warranty at 64K
Cracked valve cover replaced at 64K
MAP sensor replaced at 65K
Leaking turbo inlet pipes replaced at 67K
BOV replaced at 67K
Faulty brake booster check valve replaced at 67K
Confirmed vacuum line at removed factory exhaust flap capped
Car has been smoke tested probably about a dozen times now and it appears that there's no leaks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that prior to the 67K work I was experiencing strong surging at low throttle. That seems to have been remedied.

Log your STFT/LTFT/LAMBDA (AFR) on your Cobb. That should tell you if you're running lean. You might need to increase your fuel scalar.

What should normal values be for that?

All work was done at dealership or very good private shop, so yes.

I've got those codes when dailing in my tune/fuel & also when I first installed catless DP's. I went back under the car & refitted the DP's, made sure the gaskets were good and that they were tightened down better. Codes went away.

You may want to reset adaptations & get some logs to post.

Now have swapped all vacuum lines. Codes persist. Will reset adaptations and see what happens. Anyone have extra MAP sensors lying around?

Bro have you ever checked your wastegates? Buy a Mittyvac and plug directly into the actuators and pump to 5.7Hg" (200 bar I think). With DP's removed see how wastegate cap is seated. Closed too soon=lean or overboost, closed too late=rich underboost.

No I haven't, thanks for the suggestion.

All vacuum lines replaced and so far (~150 miles) the codes have not returned (knocking on wood)

Do you have access to a smoke machine or can you get somebody to smoke your motor? The smoke will let you know if and where your vacuum leaks are since I believe most lean codes are usually caused by vacuum leaks

It's been smoke tested, and we can't find any leaks.
Here's a video of the surging issue:

Have you tried actually monitoring throttle blade position?

Mods on car:
COBB Stage 2+ Aggressive Tune
Stett V2 cold air intake
Stett charge pipe with TiAL BOV (11psi spring)
ETS 5" FMIC
Active Autowerke catless downpipes
Active Autowerke signature catback exhaust

additional suspension and lsd mods shouldn't have any bearing on the issues so I'm not listing them here.

Codes are present regardless of whether or not the tune is installed.

Car has 67K miles on it and so far we've done all of the following:
Walnut blasted intake valves at approx 42K
Spark plugs changed at 50K
Coil packs all replaced around 57K
Main O2 sensors replaced around 60K
Injectors replaced around 64K
HPFP replaced under warranty at 64K
Cracked valve cover replaced at 64K
MAP sensor replaced at 65K
Leaking turbo inlet pipes replaced at 67K
BOV replaced at 67K
Faulty brake booster check valve replaced at 67K
Confirmed vacuum line at removed factory exhaust flap capped
Car has been smoke tested probably about a dozen times now and it appears that there's no leaks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that prior to the 67K work I was experiencing strong surging at low throttle. That seems to have been remedied.

Exactly my problem too. Check out the threads I started about this.

I get 29E1 OR 29E0 once in a while when going uphill in and if I mash the pedal in 6th (i know i know) along with 30FF and 2D2E. ONLY when going up very steep hill and mashing pedal in 6th.

If I go up that hill in 4th or 5th mashing pedal no codes.

After restart car runs fine too really weird only happens once or twice every 6 months.
