E90 pdc gong just stopped working
The rear pdc gong just stopped working. Tried adjusting the pdc sound settingin cic idrive but no joy.
The satnav voice and other gongs (seatbelt) have also stopped working. Bluetooth and radio works fine. Any idea what could be wrong? |

Could actually be a number of things. Which will all show as a non operating unit.
It might be a power related fault where the control unit has been disabled(due to say an exhausted battery) to a corroded PDC control unit due to water contamination, which isn't unknown! A decent BMW friendly diagnostic will point you in hopefully the right direction(when we see these sort if things and we remove the control unit and inspect its not unusual to open it up and see corroded terminals or even poor water out of the unit itself) But as said get it checked out first to see where you stand as it could be a good few things. |

Signs that your CCC is dying. Get it reset completely. OR manually by pressing the volume button for 20 seconds and see if that make any different.

Get it reset by coding software if you have somebody local to you.
Have you changed anything in your car recently? Any module?

So. Reset cic and kombi module. Still no sound from pdc, satnav or any of the gongs.
Checked fuses (all relevant ones, i think). Stereo and bluetooth work fine. Makes me think the AMP is ok as stereo is working fine. Is there a single speaker which outputs the gongs, satnav and PDC sound? Wondering if this may be faulty? Or any other suggestions? Last edited by creativ101; 12-20-2014 at 01:56 PM.. |

Does anyone know if the satnav, Pdc and alert gongs all work off the same speaker?
Spent hourslooking into this and have exhausted all (I think) possibilities. Completely baffled. !!! |

If you have nav, then all these sounds come from the speakers.
If you have standard radio than upto 03/07 the sounds comes from the speedometer small speaker. Cars after that uses the car speakers to transmit the sound. You need an experienced coded to shift all these sounds from CIC to speedometer to see if they are being created and if they do, then something is wrong with your CIC.

Thanks. I ran the chime test through the hidden menu and the only chime which worked was the indicator sound (I think these gongs alerts come from a smaller speaker under the steering column).
Just pm'd you regarding testing the cic. |

Still not been to resolve this. Even spoke with a couple of BMW technicians who were stumped but without a full diagnostic they can't be sure. But no appointments available now until 2nd week of jan.
Any other suggestions of what I can try in the meantime??? |
