Best Intake upgrade?

Whats the best intake upgrade that some of you guys have done to your e92 335's... cold air, dual cone, drop in??

Any dyno runs to back it up?

**I have an SSTT installed

VIP CAI

Cold air (VIP, Custom, MSDS, ect.) is definitely going to be the best compared to drop-in and engine bay dual-cone setups especially at higher boost.

Did you feel an increase in HP? Also, hows the sound from the intake?

well im running straight Sunoco 100oct on JB2HR right now, so its hard to tell the difference in power per say. however, the sound is Pure Sex imo!!!!
You begin hearing it dramatically suck in air at 2k rpm... its awesome!

There is definitely a power increase for sure. I just need to get it to the dyno soon instead of giving bench numbers.

I agree, VIP has proved nothing yet.

I GUESS Shiv will start to sell a performance package consisting of V2, intake, RR downpipes and custom map for $2000 in the end of February This will be necessary to meet the competition from Helix.

There is probably also a generic chip tuning coming in February, one European wholesaler is preparing a large release when the software lock is ready.

Many options are great for us consumers!

That would yield a 115whp gain and 105wtq gain for 2,000... I like your style!

it would be 455hp an 455tq at the motor if he stays at the current map, 390hp 390tq at the wheels... on 91, 400+whp on 93!

I'm not yet conviced that intakes & airfilters adds power. Based to some friends that already installed the air filters they barely see difference (if any). I've also noticed that people ,around this forum, that already installed airfilters are conservative expressing thoughts on the power improvement after filter's fittment.

I would be the first to buy intake or CAIs but I'm not yet sure if there are any benefits for those money

With cone filters, and V2 running agressive settings, Vishnu huge gains at he wheels, Terry saw 15whp+ as well... a stock car with a filter upgrade in the stock airbox... not so much.

Maybe this is true...I'd like to wait a bit and listen to some sound-clips as well.

I'd like to see some consumer's feedback, not from tuners. Tuners earns money from all these stuff so I dont think they would never state something different.
