My Procede V2 Experience

First of all, I want to say how INSANE my car is now. I can't believe the top end now, past 5000rpms the car just surges forward like a bat out of hell. On my first drive I went out and after a couple minutes I was thinking, hm this feels slower than 1.47... Then I realized that I set the valet switch to 2000rpms and didn't activate it! Next, I took it out to a closed course to do some top speed runs (loaded the "delimited" map). The car RIPPED to an indicated 150mph in 5th and stopped! I was like uh, this is lower than the stock limiter... Not sure whats going on with that? My GPS showed a vmax of 143mph.

The hardware install went smoothly, no problems at all. As expected the software install didn't go quite as smoothly... My first attempt with my vista laptop and cable "A" would not connect no matter what I did. I even tried a XP laptop and nothing. I'm very familiar with computers/electronics and yes I tried EVERYTHING. Reinstalled drivers, rebooted, checked and rechecked COMS etc. I even took apart the serial plug on the Procede harness to check the pins. After removing every variable I could think of I finally gave up, went to best buy, and bought cable "B". Of course it turned out to be the same guts as cable "A." Exasperated at this point (and in the best buy parking lot) I popped the hood to give it a shot. Plugged it in, hit connect and BOOM I was connected. I was so excited I frantically started loading the firmware, the map, and set the valet fearing I would lose the connection. I drove the car back happy I finally had the software loaded. Well...back at home went to connect again and do some tweaking, same cable, same laptop, same everything, and nothing. grrr... I haven't been able to get it to connect again no matter what I do so I'm not sure what the problem is but my best guess is the serial harness on the procede. I'm going to go to radio shack to get a new serial plug and try to splice it in. I'm hoping maybe shiv will send me a new serial harness to wire in?

This is NOT a negative post about V2, I'm totally satisfied with the performance and I love the fact that you can tweak it yourself. These sorts of problems are inherent with serial connections (hate them) and I don't blame the procede. I just need to iron out the connection issue and all will be well. Headed out now to install a serial cable through the firewall to the glovebox so I can button up the car and put it back in the warehouse for the time being, snow is on the way...

I can't wait to get my catless DP's, a new intake, and crank it up to 95%! Also, shiv, PLEASE make your intake affordable, like the $200-300ish area. I'm so sick of all this $600+ intake crap, its insulting - If not I'm just getting a couple cones and figuring out how to strap them on there for $100...

If it's a prototype and the real one is anything like it I would be disappointed, not taking a stab at shiv, just saying I would be. At the least box them up, wrap them and integrate them into the stock intake tract.

So shiv what do you think is the deal with the limiter? Is there something else that needs to be done?

Also is there some way I could get a new serial harness to replace mine? I just tried to connect again and it wont work. I'm not doing anything wrong, I dont know what else it could be.

hmm... you are proposing that he restricts a purposely unrestrictive intake, this would defeat the point. do you think 15-40hp at the wheels is diapointing at the wheels? Geez man.

Don't you just love it when he says you'll be disappointed, but doesn't say why. Perhaps it was a good intake until someone found the name of the creator?

Uhh, you would not be disappointed if the intake they released was this? http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71

FYI, even if they boxed something similar to that it would still be WAY less restrictive then the stock box. I still have high hopes for what they are planning, but every time THAT is referred to as a "prototype" it makes me nervous.

The point was, there should be no way their intake is anything like that like he seemed to be thinking, and if it was I would disappointed. If you have a problem with that, then it's your problem for having REALLY low standards.

The O is actually an honorific prefix, and you're just reading what you feel like. If you stopped for a bit and actually listened you might learn something.

O-cha: you sound like an angry guy. We're talking cars and car parts, not your personal life.

I'll check out that link when I can reach it (looks to be down right now - at least from europe).

well if you say "anything like" then it infers that the design as a whole is not what you are looking for... if the design makes consistent power, i'm happy with it. honorific prefix... O-k... and please give me a reason that someone should listen to you, what are you qualifications outside of your constant Vishnu bashing?

Are you dense? The guy said "Did not Terry got hold of Shiv's prototype?" that link is the "prototype". Tell me, would you buy that and put it on your car if it was like that?

First off O-Cha, considering the general consensus of other members of the thread being that you are always out of line... let me just say that i don't take your opening question personally. Let me add to that and say that you are yet again going to fall victim to my superior reasoning capability by the end of my response.

That said. Did Shiv release information on that intake to this forum or did Terry? Did Shiv start a thread boasting about how this intake represents his finished product at any point in time? Even if he did, have you seen anything that shows it to be anything but an excellent performing intake despite your desire for more flashy, polished parts? It was used as a temporary solution until the finished product is released, and it does the trick.

Would I pay $100 for that intake for that type of power gains it produces? Hell yes I would. Am I waiting to see if he brings out something better rather than making a DIY at Pep Boys? Hell yes I am. Should you hope you and I never meet through mutual aquaintences on this forum? Hell yes you should.

Dude, the dense part I referred to was that I EXPECT that the intake he releases wont be like that, but that every time it's referred to as a "prototype" it makes me worried. Please read that about 50 times and use your "superior reasoning skills" on it until you figure out what it means. IE that I'm NOT bashing shiv.

In other words, YOU are just reading into my post the way you want in order to make a post about how I'm bashing shiv and saying that his intake is going to suck, when it's the exact opposite. Someone else had that impression and I corrected it

Again, please read about 50 times with your "superior reasoning skills".

Seriously, just wow.

Also, threatening people on the internet? lol

By someone with your "superior reasoning skills" it obviously does, since you've read the same thing 4 times now and interpreted the way you felt like each time.
