Lost Locking Wheel Nut Key... HELP!!

HELP! My standard BMW locking wheel nut key has done a runner! No idea where is has gone so can I order a new one or do I need to get them removed and new ones fitted? I'm sure on other cars you can request a replacement key but I'm not sure if this is the case with bmw's

Thanks

Go into your local dealer, they should be able to order one from your chassis number.

As above the dealer should know which one you need.

I had to get a new one and it was surprisingly under £5.

I had this issue with an old ford i had. Popped into a local dealer and out of pure luck one of their sales guys was moving a car around with the exact same alloys on as mine and same locking nuts!! They were kind enough to lend me the locking nut key for a few mins so i could remove the locking nuts on mine (had already purchased another set). Was about £40 to order from ford and 2 weeks waiting list. Was pretty urgent as i needed new tyres so they said we might as well just lend you our key for a min save you £40 if you've already got a new set elsewhere. Pretty sound of them.

Nice - usually main dealers are money grabbing ####s who don't give a toss about customer service!

thank you for all the replies people.

I have to admit it's the first time I've visited the BMW dealership having purposely avoided it for fear of being overcharge but I must admit I couldn't have asked more from the parts department in my local dealership. In an out in 10 minutes and only cost £9.35 for a new key which will be ready to pick up tomorrow

I think they make the prices up

I paid £5 not more than 6 months ago

the bloke did mention that the prices vary between the 2 different type of locking keys which could explain that.

And im guessing you had the 'more expensive' one?

They make things up as they go along don't they... I hate dealerships with a passion

Funnily enough the same thing happened to me today, Stratstone derby charged me £14 for a new one!

They also insisted on seeing my V5, paper counterpart and a utility bill addressed to me
