Winter Wheel Setup?
I am looking for input as I need to replace my current winter tires. It seems that the inside edge of each tire is "feathered" casing wheel shake, rough, loud ride. I had an alignment done this summer. I am booked again for this week to make sure that my alignment isn't casing this kind of odd tire wear.
So, I am looking at changing my winter rims as well so that I do not need to run spacers. What I am looking for are recommendations on high quality "winter" rims that have the correct offset to give me a semi flush look. Assuming I want a wheel with a 20 or 25mm offset running 225/45/17's on an 8" rim. Does this sound about right? Which rim companies should I be looking at? Thanks,

I went a slightly different route to kill two birds with one stone... Apex ARC-8's in 17x9 et30 with 235/45-17 in winter and 255/40-17 trackday tires during the dry season.
No spacers needed and amazingly light. Pic of winter setup below ![]() |
