Props to the warranty = New Wiper Blades :)
Over the last few months, I've gotten a few nicks in the wiperblades. When I called a dealer, after I told them it's an '07 335, they offered to sell me new blades for $60.00. Fortunately, I never got around to picking them up.
Yesterday, I found myself passing another dealer and swung in, on an impulse. They quoted the same price, then pointed out that blades are covered by the warranty!! Woo Hoo!! 8 mins and one signature later, I rolled out with new blades. It's a minor thing, yes, but I still saved $60, which was a pleasant surprise. Go BMW! Oh, for those that are curious: Bad Dealer = Union Park BMW in Wilmington, DE Good Dealer = BMW Bel Air in Bel Air, MD

actually, wiper blades are covered under warranty... so is wiper fluid incase u are wondering...
went into BMW for oil change, they asked if there was anything i want them to check out, and i told them the car says low wiper fluid... that and the blades streak a lil... when i picked up my car the next day, they had filled up the fluid, and changed the wipers... not just the blades, but the actual control arm as well, lol... gotta luv the warranty... |

yes, 3 months after i bought my car, I had one of my wiper blades replaced under warranty as it was warped and streaking during operation. i also got my wiper fluids refilled twice. i ask them to top it off when i take it in for service.
no hassles either time, although i got an 'already?!?' re: my wiper blade replacement. they tested it and saw the streaks, so no issues there. honestly, it was my fault too cuz after i clean my windshields at the gas station, i usually slam my wipers back down onto the windshield.

Pretty much everything is under warranty. I never had to pay for wiper fluid or blades on my previous E46. In fact I would just roll in and get my fluid topped off from time to time. I would also get my blades replaced at every BMW recommended oil change.
I even had burnt out bulbs replaced for free. As long as it's under warranty this is all covered. Don't get scammed! |

It's around $55 in Canada if you do it at the dealer. I think it costs this much because they charge you labour too. However, in Canada, the wipers are only covered for the first 2000km (Yes, 2000km only) of the car and the dealership replaced mine due to excessive noise.
It's another story in the US since wipers are included in their no-charge maintenance plan. |

do you usually schedule appt for oil change ?
I know some dealerships like Infinity and Mercedes wont take you and if you had appt, you still get to spend there at least half day if you are getting an oil change. |

My dealership never asks me about the blades, they just check them and replace them if they are not working perfectly. I have had them replaced twice without my realizing it until I either wipe or check the paperwork.
So, suffice to say that Ganley BMW rocks! |

Actually it's not, BMW expects owner's to take ownership in their vehicles and top off any and all fluids as needed, but as we all know most owners do not do this themselves. Your dealership is providing the washer fluid or any fluid (oil, coolant) that you have put in it at their own expense. The only time BMW pays for it is when the BMW washer fluid is put in with BMW paid oil changes. Most people call the dealers "stealers" because it's so expensive to support a service department, but it's stuff like this that people don't think about, couple bucks here for washer fluid couple bucks for a quart of oil, all on the dealer's tab, it adds up quicker than most people would think. |

my factory BMW wiper blades suck! my wife's car has the Bosch Excel wipers and they perform much better. my blades streak like crazy and are horrible at night in the rain when there's oncoming traffic w/ their headlights on.

in Europe fluids are NOT included in service and warranty! You need to pay for oil, wiper fluid and everything else fluid.
these fluids are approx 4 times more expensive then in the USA |

its not always the blades that suck...sometimes its the cleaning products used on the windows that make the blades suck...bit of a trick if you guys ever have some streaky blades and are in a bind take some alcohol pads and wipe the blades...should take care of it for a bit...and yes the wipers are covered under your warranty should you complain about them they will be replaced...

mine are starting to streak... gets annoying.. the stealership closer to my house will probably try to charge me like $80, they are a bunch so money hungry bast@rds.. The dealership I bought my car is an hour away from me.. What exactly is covered under warranty?? cuz I had to pay to get my oil topped off, and I read on the forum that people have been getting it under warranty.. sorry this post was kind of a rant.

Have to give a shout for BMW of Sterling in VA -- they hooked me up with new wipers during my oil change last week.
