Any General tire users have this issue

I hate how the tire does not cover the entire wheel and leaves the outer edge a little exposed. Are the General tires a little narrower than the PS2, Falken, GYs?

Its only noticeable on the back. I have 9.5 19" M5 reps on 265/30 tires

Mine are the same. In fact , my wheels seem to have even more of a gap between the edge of the rim and the contact with the sidewall at the bead. Perhaps it is because we have different wheels.

It bothered me so much that I went to 275.

And now it's only a tad better.

Picture below is of the 265.

They look like they don't have the rim flange protector or it has a really small one.

My General Exclaims look the same way on my VS7s, probably worse. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing them again...

Do the Toyo T1Rs or PS2s have the rim protector flange or is this just a function of the tire size width on this rim? Would going to a 19x9 rim possibly fix this.

That is exactly correct. They do NOT have the flange protector. That is another reason why I don't push the sale of the generals beside the fact that there are better tires out there for close to the same price.

I saw a member's ride the other day when I was at the body shop and he's got these General Exclaims on his iForged, and I can definitely tell that his rims are sticking out. But it does not look that bad IMHO. For the price you paid, I think Generals are still great tire.

I got the CSLs with Toyo T1Rs, and my wheels sit pretty flush with the tires. I think the T1Rs have the rim flange protectors (I just went out and check after I read this thread). But again, I am using the 245/275 combo so maybe that's why the wheels are flush. Perhaps I will take some pics when the weather gets better outside to show you guys.

i dont know much about the general's as i cant find them in the uk,but i would imagine that for a similar price with a good rim protector kumho's or falken 452's would fit the bill, from what ive been reading the falken's are a great value tyre.

Here are General Exclaims in 275/30/19 on 9.5" wide wheels. The wheels are not sticking out. Might just need to bump it up a size.

Personally, I think my Generals are perfect! best bang for the buck. Remember the price you pay for them as well.
