Nowadays unless you got a ticket in NYC it's not worth getting a lawyer. Unless you are going to trial don't expect the cop to be there and it doesn't even matter the postponing doesn't matter anymore.

I've gotten so many tickets in Westchester and two in suffolk and never had a lawyer and I have 0 points on my license. These courts want money they will reduce your ticket to a hefty parking ticket and not give any points. They profit from these parking tickets, all the money goes to them. Where as a ticket with points some if not most money goes to the state.

Suffolk county is the worst place to get any type of ticket. I had a stop sign ticket cost me $500 but no points. Lady next to me had a 8 point speeding ticket on northern state parkway she got same deal $500 no points as did pretty much everyone else that was there no matter what ticket they had. Definitely don't ever speed there or run any stop signs.

Now in westchester I got a ticket for 83 in a 55 was reduced to littering ticket $320. Another 77 in 45 and unsafe lane change reduced to $450 parking ticket.

Pass on the lawyer and expect to pay $500. Use the money you saved on the lawyer and get a good detector and laser jammer.
