Windscreen Jet Washers - Advice please
Hi all.
Picked up my beautiful 320si from Nottingham on Sunday and started the drive up to Glasgow. Absolutely brilliant driver. Got as far as the border before I needed to use the windscreen washers, and low and behold they ain't working. The car has quite literally passed an MOT within the last week so I am curious as to what seems to have happened. One contributory factor would perhaps be the cold we have had (it has been below or around freezing for the last week) and whoever has carried out the MOT has filled the reservoir with just water and not proper screen wash. Anyway, the pump seems to be working, or I can hear it anyway, so concluded that it would be a blockage, split hose or filter. There are no puddles under the car so can't imagine it would be a huge problem. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Tried searching the forum but can't see anything along similar lines. Anyway, put it into the local main dealer (Douglas Park, Glasgow) this morning to have it check and any necessary parts replaced, let the dealer in Nottingham know that's where it was, and he seems a bit reluctant that I've used a main dealer rather than an indy specialist. My main reason for this was that the local specialist I normally use (Deutschtek, Glasgow) were not able to look at the car until next week and I have a journey to Aberdeen to make tomorrow. Where should I go from here? Any advice would be appreciated. Mike

You may be in the same boat as me sir. I've got pump noise but little to no fluid coming, which likely means a clog as I too have no puddles under the car.
From my research you'll need to at minimum clean or a maximum replace the filters. The part number for my 328i was 61667006063 though obviously I'm not sure if that's a fit for your 320si, but one would think so. Check realOEM. They are called "Water pump strainer" I believe. You'll also need 3 new rivets for your wheel well liner to reinstall it properly. Part 51111908077.
