E90 cruise control retrofit mistery

Hi Everyone,

I have a very strange issue ,I hope someone can really help me.
I have bought the retrofit from E82 for 6 cilinder 128 and 135i my car is E90 330xi 2007

part id:

Part 61319123041 (Switch unit steering column) was found on the following vehicles:
E82 128i Coupe, N51 (UP93) : Switch unit steering column

E88 128i Convertible, N52N (UL73) : Switch unit steering column
E88 128i Convertible, N51 (UN13) : Switch unit steering column
E88 135i Convertible, N55 (UN73) : Switch unit steering column
E88 135i Convertible, N54 (UN93) : Switch unit steering column
E88 135i Convertible, N55 (UN73) : Switch unit steering column
E88 135i Convertible, N54 (UN93) : Switch unit steering column

The issue - i have installed the retrofit
calibrated the steerign angle sensor with DIS GT1 - the sensor works perfectly it shows 0.0 degrees and when moving it shows the actual degrees.
Then we coded the cruise control via NCS but i have all warning lamps :
DSC,4x4 - and the error is steering angle sensor.

I can not fix that - can someone help please.

Thanks

I should get only for E90 6cyl - is that what you mean?

Your number only fits on 4 cylinders.
Do keep in mind that you should retrofit code 544 and not 540.

So if i understand you properly - no matter its for 6 cyl 1er it shows only 4cyl 3er which is the main thing to check before retrofitting.

Another thing - isn't 544 for active cruise control - i dont have the eye.If not a problem for you is it possible to tell me the full procedure.

So for 6 cyl the optio is $544 in VO not $540 right, anything else that needs change in vehicle coding?

So the whole procedure is :

Install new steering column with cruise control
Add VO $544
Calibrate steering angle sensor
Anything else that needs changes with NCS?

Thanks

Yes always check the part number. Szl is controlled by the dsc module and when you've x-drive always double check.

540: cruise control (option for 4 cylinders)
541: active cruise control (uses the eye in the front bumper)
544: cruise control with braking function (standard on 6 cylinders)

You should add option 544 and check with the corresponding szl.

Procedure:
-install new szl
-add 544 to cas and nfrm
-fa_write to cas and nfrm
-code cas and nfrm
-code cluster (kombi)
-code dsc
-reset angle sensor (inpa or ista-d)
-confirm tpc (rdc) on i-drive

If you've ista-p I would recommend to use that.

I've installed yesterday cruise control on a e90. I'll check the report if I've forgotten anything.

I've check the report and I've nothing to add about the coding.

Please use the appreciate button and report if you've succesfully retrofitted the cruise control

That I know, and as it appears for the 6 cyl apart from the steering column we need a new cluster also to support it.

No. It will work without a new cluster. What can happen is that there is no information about cruise control, no led, no info on the Lcd or over the speedo ring. I've made some cruise control on 6 cyl and all have worked, even without the proper cluster.

this is an old thred but i want to clarify how to retroft the DCC (dynamic cruise control) on to my car E90 325i (6cyl) 2005 model. what i did so far were

- purchased steering column with cruise control bar (found right type#)
- add $544 into VO by ncs-expert for both CAS and FRM
- recode CAS, FRM, DSC and KOMBI
- reset/calibrate seering angle sensor, then error "5E50" disappered
- reset DSC by ista-d to get rid of "5DD2" and "5DD0"

I thought this was what id need to complete. However i still got cruise control error message from cluster and error code from ista-d such as "D35B". this looks like there is no message from LDM module.

other thread says that LDM module needs to be installed if model is manifactuered before 09/06. do you know if the LDM module is being installed in the car regardless of option of DCC installed?

does anyone know if LDM should newly be installed in the car in order to realize the DCC function?

thanks

As far as I know the DME must be reprogrammed to work with $544, not just coding is enough.

For pre 09/06 and DCC or ACC you need LDM

Thank for the comment.
Do you know how to install LDM module into car if I get it? Is there a connector already inatalled where I can fit it? I do not have a wiring diagram nor where it should be located.

My car is RHD so I removed a box where it is located under light switch but not able to find any related module nor connector in order to have LDM fitted.

In addition, other information said that the new solution after 09/06 was that LDM function was moved to DSC by program update, so no need LDM from that model. In that case all we can do is update DSC with a new SW verstion or it is impossible due to HW restriction unless HW DSC is replaced with new one which will have this update arrowed?
