Tips on getting film off windshield?

My last 2 cars did this and it makes it super dangerous to drive.

What happens is, if its say misting out and the wipers going, it will squeegee the water off with out streaks but instead of it leaving a dry path its still wet and smeary and has patches that "separate".

Blades are Rain Ex. I have cleaned the window with denatured alcohol, no dice, Stoners cleaner till the window squeaked...

Sorry to hear your troubles with the windshield. How old are the wiper blades? I would start with those as glass is VERY hard to scratch unevenly enough to leave water like that. Let us know how it goes.

I bought my car with Rain-x wipers and they seem to do the same thing. I've been meaning to replace them even though they look like they're in good shape.

I clayed my windshield and polished it and that did seem to help some

Once you get a new windshield, you can also look into getting a windshield coating or sealant to try out.

not sure how old the wipers are... was thinking that maybe it was the way I wash my cars... I rinse with the WAX option then no spot rinse. I do that fall and winter when I cant wax. Thought the wax might be leaving that film.

Ill check into that sealant when I get the new window.

That can definitely cause the issue since you smear the wax around with the wiper blades. I would say start with new wiper blades if you don't know how old they are, then maybe wipe down the windshield with isopropyl alcohol after you do the wax option in order to clear the wax. Let us know how it goes.
