I have a news D300 with a 18-200mm lens.
On a couple occasions I have taken a shot and a small part of the photo shown on the LCD is white with a flashing black splotch inside it. Is this a burp by the camera since it could not figure out what was going on in the shot. One time the defect was a shiny portion of a light switch that was reflecting sunlight, another time a door crack that was showing light. Any ideas? What is this defect called? Is it a bad sensor or just a confused pic? Thx for any help. Glenn |

![]() ![]() The camera is showing you what portion of the shot is full saturated - the sensor has recorded that portion of the image as pure white. Try speeding up the shutter or stopping down the apperature. You can also lower the ISO number. But seriously, ![]()

![]() I know. I have the D200 - very similar in many respects. I haven't read the manual cover to cover either!
