V2 questions ...
I want to up my power, but I don't want to throw CELs and other issues that will make me regret buying a processor. I also don't want to max out any settings that would cause damage to my car. Is the V2 what I am looking for? I am considering Dinan and maybe the SSTT2 as well. Thanks for the help

1) Vishnu was very backed up when they released this product and were having trouble being accessible for addressing issues and providing customer support. 2) They are pissed at Vishnu because of #1 and have decided to allocate a good hour or two of their day undermining vishnu's efforts. 3) They didn't take the time to properly install the product and/or read the intructions which caused an CEL/limp then #1 became an issue they would not have otherwise noticed. That said, I highly recommend it after 9,000 miles from 1.47 to 2.00 to 2.01 to 2.02 and the different 2.02 updates I also think the future of the product is the most promising especially if you want to upgrade downpipes/exhaust/intake as they are now north of 390 wheel horsepower on 91 and 400whp on 93...

Thanks for spending the time passing that info along to me and others. So many posts have responses like " V2 is the sh*t" and " brand X sucks " that it is hard to gauge the true quality of a processor.
I want a processor that is going to be smooth in drivability with no herky jerky throttle responses. I hope that the V2 is just that.

I read on the vishnu website that the box is basically plug and play. But then I read about TQ and 90%, 94% and I have no clue what they are talking about. Is this unit adjustable? I use 93 octane exclusively and all I want to do is hook up the unit and roll. Any help here?

If you want a little power, and pure simplicity, SSTT takes about 1 minute to install and will get gains of 30-35 whp (yielding approx. 305-315whp) with no other mods. That is the true plug and play. If you are patient, and meticulous, V2 will be a cinch to install. I sorta scanned over the instructions and got it in fairly hassle free. Take 20-30 minutes to read what you are doing before you begin and it will go right in

Thanks stillclaimndp! two more questions. How are the % settings changed, and are V2s shipping now or still on a wait? As for the install, I am patient, and not worried about the actual install. I will pass on the SSTT if I can get safe ,reliable power from the V2. And I was ready to buy the JB2...

The torque % is adjusted by hooking up a serial port on the procede to your pc either by using a USB to Serial Port connector cable which has usb on one end and serial port on the other. Supposedly it is better to buy at best buy vs. the radio shack cable. Then you adjust it with the PROcede user software. I'll be honest, if you follow instructions you will get it no sweat. If you don't like to read instructions, you will be posting something like "V2 Problems help!" then someone will point out that a wire is backwards or that you need to use the "install disk" for your cable to get your pc to recognize the cable, etc... I'll be honest man, installing this unit is not obvious, but it is simple and there are some great cheat sheets for the wiring diagram, and it is easy if you follow instructions.

Ali, looks like that video is still only showing the V1 install.
Any update on the revised V2 one? SJ |

If you dont want CEL's, DO NOT BUY A V2. Wait for the Helix to come out which should be very soon and is producing greater power than V2 with no CELS or get a JB2H...............

Not to start an argument, but statements like these have no supporting facts and are just blatant unsubstantiated shots. I love to hear every side of every tune, but you cannot just say v2 causes CEL's with no proof, or even worse argue a tune that has not hit the market yet is foolproof with regards to CELs. The Attache could very well be, but to argue its reliability before it is even available is a bit premature.

Now this is a blatant unsubstantiated shot, because I have supporting facts and real life situations with the relation of CEL's and the V2, so before you start saying I have no idea, why don't you ask me first!! |

Again, have had V2 on my car for over a month, messing with different settings, updated maps (v2.01 and v2.02) with different octanes and never a limp or CEL.
Most CEL's or limps with finalized versions of v2 were due to installation error. I believe only the first version of v2.02 was prone to limp modes and that was fixed very quickly by Shiv. |
