knocking when driving underneath footwell

so took the 320d out for a drive today that doesnt get driven much. its a 08 reg 320d edition m sport manual

just changed all pads on weekend and all ok.

noticed when i took it out there was a knocking coming from under my feet when driving.

anybody have an idea where to look at first?

I must have grounded the car (M Sport) and mine did this. Turns out it was a broken exhaust bracket; one bolt had come off and it was secured with the other. I imagined all types of potential fault, but it turned out to be something more simple.

im guessing ball joint related or something? just hope its not something too serious!

is it a faint knocking only when your slow moving over mildly rough surface? could it be drop links?
