Bad fittment from Vorsteiner deck lid?
Is it true, that the Vorsteiner PU deck lid spoiler has a bad fittment?
and is the CF version really better? |

A few people around here are claiming that CF version fits a bit better than the PU version, but both are not perfect so I'd say its probably true. I know Spool was having some fitment problems with his PU deck lid just recently.
Just buy the new trunk, it fits great |

I think Long is running the full trunk now.
For the PUR version, you want to mount it in the sun. The piece is designed to heat up and mold to the lip of the trunk for a better fit. If you just slap it on there, it's not going to sit correctly. Alternatively, you can use a heat gun to heat up the surface prior to mounting. |

I have the CF vorsteiner decklid. Although its not 100%, its pretty much as close as it can get. Probably 95% perfect. You'll never notice unless you get up close and really pay attention.

using a heat gun should help with the installation but im not sure if it will solve the problem completely. The best way to go will probably be just to betalink the spoiler on. This is what a lot of the so cal guys did. If you dont know what Betalink is, just search it.

Yep.
If you want to be cost-effective and you are not picky, get the PUR version, if not the CF decklid is much better. I feel the trunk is the best option but obviously it is priced more.

Yeah i tried the heat gun method to heat up the urethane, it did flex, but then it still didn't fit very well. And flexing makes it hard to stick onto the trunk with double side tape, it comes off very easy. I literally had to stand there and push the lid in until it sticks. Finally i just got tired, ripped it off and sold it, took a huge loss.

The piece is still a nice piece IMO. Just the CF one is better. Again, it boils down to $$$.

Its not that I didnt think it was nice looking, it is. Its just that fitment wise, I wouldnt have been able to deal with it looking the way it does. The CF one does fit a lot better, thats true.

betalink works a lot better than double side tape for the spoiler, just heat up the spoiler, put it on, then tape it up for 24hrs then remove the tapes

CF. It's always been CF man. As far as shipping goes, it cant be that bad, can it? I had 4 rims shipped to me thru Bax Global for $300, but thats in Germany and the rims weigh 100lbs. Surely something weighing maybe 10lbs is a lot less than that.
