obviously it would be really expensive. But imagine, weve already reached about 420-430 crank hp safely on this 3.0L TT v6. Imagine the tuning potential in the TT V8. 550-600 HP easily?

Like the TT v6, the TTv8 will be easier to tune for power.

Obviously, this will be for a niche market for whom wants a turbo and one of a kind car. Hence, money isn't a factor so it's not a price vs. performance discussion.

There's aready an E90 with the 5.0L V10 M5 motor running around so there's no reason you can't fit a 4.0L TT engine in there. It will cost less than the M5's engine swap, that's for sure.

Sounds like a piece-o-cake engine swap. I guess I'll scrap the Chevy 350 idea and give this a shot...

I would rather just build the N54 instead. It would be a PITA to be the first one to do it, but I can almost guarantee that it would be way less of a headache than swapping in the other engine/drivetrain.

I can't wait for someone to do it here. I bet there is a brave individual here, and boy will that engine rock with an ecu chip.

there would probably be no point in putting such a strong engine in the e90/92 because there won't be enough traction to put all those power onto the ground.

i'm just gonna swap in a twin turbo LS3 and show you all what real powa issss.

Seriously though, that TT V8 is going to be a really nice engine based on what BMW did w/ the N54.

99% sure the 4.4TT won't fit in our cars boys and girls.

And don't say but the v10 fits, so why wouldn't the 4.4 TT??

v10 has smaller dimensions and less parts (2 turbos, intercoolers, DP's, etc) attached to it

My sentiments exactly. There's no way the engine from an X6 is going to fit comfortably in a e90/e92 without doing ridiculous body modifications that would completely ruin the car.

Doubt it, but would have to see it's dimensions. But your right, that would be a monster, but being 7.0 liters it's a wide engine.

But as I've said in other posts when people have brought up the thoughts of the V8TT in the 3 series.

The v10 fits because it's not even as long as our current 3.0TT I6 but width wise we have the space in the engine bay with the v10 because it doesn't have two turbos, DP's and intercooler piping and so forth hanging off the sides of it.

It's not the length of the v8TT that's the problem it's the width and height when you consider it's wider than the v10 and taller due to all the turbos and supporting parts.

Makes sense to me Michael. Way to crush our dreams....

Driver72, X6 has a 4.0L TT.
Same displacement as the M3 but with 2 turbos and more piping. Heck if a 5.0L V10 fits in there, why wouldn't this fit?
