Male power connector broken on V2 install

I was helping a friend out and installing his V2 when the unthinkable happened. I broke the male power connector from the ECU that taps into the proceed. I"ve read the threads and I haven't seen if anyone has been able to source the male connector locally from a Home Depot or NAPA yet.

I went to Home Depot, no luck.He had an appointment coming up that I didn't want him to be late for because i broke his connector so I did the unthinkable. I cut the connector off of my car and spliced it onto his wire. After that....smooth sailing and he was off w a grin on his face after the 1st test drive. side note - those auto's sure do shift fast!!!!

So, i'm left w/ a powerless car. Anyone know where I can source a connector locally? I would like to get my car back up and running tomorrow.

My other option is to figure out how to get those 3 wires from the female side into a larger generic female connector and install a generic larger male connector on the orange wire.

Any help is appreciated.

You should search Eugen (e.n335) posts: I remember he posted the part numbers you need.

Or PM Shiv, he could overnight you the right part?

that would be nice! I would pay for the overnight....I kinda need my car afteralll, i'm in sales and my pickup truck w/ my deer stand in the back does not make the best first impression on new clients.

I would prefer to source one locally.....these can't be BMW and procede only hardware pieces. I'll see what I can find at NAPA tomorrow, then maybe the local Audi dealer (no close BMW dealer)

yeah its a very weak factory connector .

Ive found the part numbers but would like to find them at a local parts store instead of driving an hour each way to the dealer.

My car is now back up and running, just took some innovative crimping and soldering.....it'll never pass for stock again.

The title of this thread causes me to check my male power connector every few minutes. So far it appears to be functioning within normal parameters. In the future I think I'll have my wife check it for me - should be more fun that way.

Hopefully you're not currently working in close proximity to others.

Hey Sniz, That was above and beyond the call of duty scuttling your own parts to help another. Something tells me we won't break mine!

Sniz is my hero for volunteering to cut the connector out of his car and putting it in mine Yeah, I'm the friend he's talking about. It's like he took his kidney and donated it to me.

SO glad to hear you're back up and running, where'd you get the part from?

And Clem, you have nothing to worry about, he'll do a great job

we better not! I can't cut one off my car anymore.....mine looks like ass but works fine now. I apparently do not have the best touch w a soldering iron, but it worked.

no problem man, actually it was pretty easy to fix. I went around to several stores in the area on the way home from the office today and everyone just had a puzzled look on their faces when they saw the small male connector. I ended up using a larger generic female connector, pried the end open and stuck the butt end of the broken male connector in it. Then crimped it tight and soldered the whole thing.

I think lawdude might have just pitched a tent on that last paragraph.

Sniz I used to have a 67 Camaro back in the days with a 350 SB and doing stuff like that is natural when u played around with cars like that...I used to tap off the fuse from the cheap ass fuse box mounted onto the firewall of the drivers side to add accessories to the car like amps, radio etc...It was done to achieve what was needed to fix the problem...simple and no cares in the world!!! I see you haven't changed too much!!! No worries!!

I think he broke the connector from the orange power wire....The green loom is not the same size as that one!!! You can send your green loom to me to try because of my galluping issues...I have been asking shiv to send me one of those wires for a long time, but i didn't want to break his bank account asking him to send me one for free.
