Circoli non OEM Thermostat
I replaced both thermostats (EGR and Main) in May 2013 using a non OEM Circoli main stat. False economy. MPG dropped in November and coolant temperature varied wildly between 57C and (rarely) 85C.
ECP quoted Circoli warranty as 12 months so I bit the bullet and bought OEM BMW stat from Harry Fairburn Kirkcaldy (15% discount, free delivery and 2 years warranty). I replaced the stat last weekend and discovered this (photo below). Note the displaced rubber seating around the stat "plunger" making the stat permanently open.

Not good mate...especially as i just used the same on mine. i guess its by cheap by twice as they say thinking i may source an OEM stat rather than wait for this Non OEM to break

I fitted a Circoli main stat to my 320d
Kept engine temps for a month and failed! Fitted a genuine one and no issues! Circoli stats are completely shite! Wouldnt fit one to my kettle |
