How does snow affect pricing/age of car?

I've been looking nationwide for a specific car. I've noticed that east coast cars/cars driven in the snow tend to be priced lower than the equivalent car on the west coast. Is this due to car having driven in snow? How does snow affect the age/wear and tear on a car?

It's not the snow, it's the salt that is spread on roads to melt the snow and ice that accumulate on the road surface.

Garage List
Salt - corrosion
Potholes - Suspension wear
Sand - pitting of paint and windshield
Collisions
Interior wear - salt and sand in carpet

Winter here is brutal on cars.

I lived in MI for 15+ years and let me tell you, I would never buy a car from that region. Even with frequent undercarriage washes, you do develop undercarriage rust. Major pain in the a$$ when it comes to repair due to rusted bolts/nuts. If you drive in winter, you are bound to get stuck behind salt trucks and those salt pellets are big enough that they chip your paint and windshield.

How about cars that had been driven only summer months? All that temperature fluctuation during winter months, going back and forth from freezing and melting, you develop cracks/bumps/potholes, some size of a basketball and DOT can't get to every single one of them in time. Your suspension takes a beating
