toyota amazon mpg
Hi who would have a idea as to what mpg you could get from a toyota amazon diesel auto 7 seater .My sister in law was round today quoting a round the town figure of 28-30 mpg .And was moaning that her new x5 was so expensive to run .I stuck my neck out and said i wouldnt think that was any where near realistic .I said i think much nearer 20 mpg than 30 round town any ideas

The Amazon Diesel doing 30mpg around town??!!! Hahahaha, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while...! Try about 17-18mpg realistically... last year I had the misfortune of using a new Landcruiser diesel in London, and it was atrocious. Never mind the sheer size of the thing, but you need to plan so far ahead just so you can get through traffic at a decent pace. The fuel consumption was frankly horrifying too...

The amazon isn't going to offer any better economy than the X5. (although my colleague has an X5 deisel and he only does slightly better mpg than my 330i) |

Ok guys we are agreed
I happened to mention to her have you factured in the recent fuel price rises ,She was quoting that she was spending £60 a week and now since she has had the x5 is up to £80 ,unfortuantly she doesnt work and drives absolutly every where the car is loaded up with everything you can imagine .cricket stuff/ football kit /golf clubs /childs stroller.she is to lazy to have a small car and just take what she needs each time she goes out .she asked what i could suggest i said a 3 series touring like a 320d has any body any constructive suggestions to a suitable vechicle that would suit her (hummer)

Our Disco 3 TDV6 does about 17-18mpg around town, that is probably the same for the vast majority of full size diesel engined 4x4s.
