Best springs to lower 1" all around.

I'm just looking to get rid of the gap in the wheel well between the wheel and the bottom of the fender. Ideally a single inch all around would be the sweet spot in my opinion. ANy suggestions on springs to accomplish this? The springs I've looked into so far all drop the vehicle over an inch.

OEM sport suspension with the supreme lowering perches might be a good option.

Or the yellow BMW Performance springs if you want slightly more aggressive look.

Socket I thought yours were H&R race springs?

For me the Eibachs dont lower enough. The H&R's a tad too much

An inch is too much with stock length struts; you lose too much bump travel. My car is lowered an inch front and back on coilovers. If you don't want to go with coilovers then BMW performance, Dinan or Eibach all lower the car a half inch.

I was about to suggest Dinan, as I bought them and I like them, but alas, Dinan no longer shows them on their site.

I do plan to invest in struts/shocks soon but I need to at least get the springs to lower the car for the time being, I hate the way it looks now with that ugly wheel gap. Right now I'm leaning more towards the eibach pro kit. Whats the drop rate on those, they look good. They h&r's don't look all that bad either judging from the pic posted by socket, but I'm not really looking to slam my car so I'm a bit on the fence on those.

Eibach has a euro spec Xi specific spring set. Front and rear axle load ratings its made for are very close to 335xi (not like the i springs). Part number is E10-20-014-08-22 and its available on ebay shipped directly from germany. My local tuner shop did these on a 328xi recently with Koni Yellows and the customer was very happy. I have not seen the car myself but I was told it lowered nicely and comfort is good. Shop owner told me it was one of the best combos he tried.

these go about 30mm front and 15-20mm rear.

Either way do your own research before buying anything. Decision is ultimately yours.

Not sure if I'd be able to even consider that setup though seeing as my car is not an xi model. Can anyone confirm this.

Ha! Sorry, for some reason thought this thread was in the Xi forum.

BMW Performance springs lower the car 1/2" all around (from sport package height, more if you don't have the sport package) - not sure if that's enough for you.

Dr. Robert I really like the mod route you took. You have improved many aspects of your car greatly but did it in a very tasteful way and you didn't cut too many corners. You obviously did your homework and put in top quality pieces.

I too have strove for this method with my 328, improved many aspects of the car from a very functional standpoint (oem rear blacklines and the oem black grill were my one cosmetic spurge). My mods (except for the audio) were all a couple notches short of yours though! Congratulations on achieving a very nice car.

Thanks. I try not to attract too much attention and don't want it to be obvious that my car is modded. I like having an awesome car that looks like every other 3 series on the road.

Yes agree 100%, I think that is the way to go. One of the side benefits is you end up with a car that you CAN sell if/when you need to and possibly even boosted its value.

Thank you, thats a good comparison.
I would want something slightly lower so probably HR spring but I'm afraid it'll make my sport suspension ride much worse on Houston cement roads.

Many complain after doing the H&R that they got too much of a good thing!

I agree with cdgatti, great job on your mods. I'm really kicking myself for not choosing the Koni Yellows for my struts while I was still modding my car. Oh well, I'll know better the next time round if I get another BMW again.

Its never too late! I got FSDs first but hated them with the BMWPS springs, swapped them out for yellows and love them. Live and learn.
