A10A EWS4 Error Code

Hey guys,

Just scanned the car for error codes, as I do every so often. A new one seems to have popped up - by itself. "A10A EWS4 timing challenge / response error"

Does anyone know what exactly this means? I've scoured the web but no source seems to elaborate on what exactly may cause this. The BMWhat app had it under immobiliser?

Have the same code on my 2012 X5 M (E70), along with code A103 EWS4 (Immobilizer Bus Fault).

Any help by anyone who has experience with these codes would be appreciated.

Bump.

My '07 325i threw this error for first time today. Car went into limp mode shortly thereafter.

Turned car off and restarted (at a red light) then seemed fine. Worrisome nonetheless...

I also have NOX sensor errors so perhaps related? Anyone know what the A10A error is?
