The dreaded Car Insurance time..

Only a quick one really im 41 years old have been driving 24 years and insurance just never seems to get cheaper..

So i've checked the forum search section and it brings up stuff from all over the world ( not much help with UK insurance )

Can i ask for UK forum members to possibly point me in the direction of a half decent ( not laugh out loud quote ) Insurance company, im currently with Adrian Flux, but i know there going to come back with an un competive quote, as all insurance companys seem to be ok the first year way expensive the 2nd year?????

I've just try RAC and there £550.00!! for my 330 D M sport, Ere no i've got maximum no claims 3 points and there still £550.00...So i know that different parts of the country vary wildy but im just after WHO you use and how's given you GOOD competitive quotes..

Thanks for any info.....

Admiral but on a multicar policy. Adrian Flux are stupidly expensive for me, even before I had air ride on!

I got a very competitive quote from A-Plan brokers - no harm in giving them a ring .

I'm with Allianz, fully comp on a 330i for £420. It worked out cheaper to have my wife on the policy.

Just a word of warning on the Admiral Multicar - we actually found we got a cheaper deal by insuring both our cars separately with Admiral rather than on the Multicar - go figure.....

They are always the cheapest for me, but I know that you get what you pay for and don't expect much if I ever have to claim.

So do I....I live In a park very quite as you'd expect it to be no drive or garage but private road 15 years NCB and getting quotes around £450/£480...its my bl__dy postcode area BB is pretty bad for claim for crash so im told..p__ses me off no end that lowlifes who steal instead of working end up costing the workers as per usual.

Im gunna try a couple of mentioned ones tomorrow as some u've not heard of..

I'm only £180-190(I can't remember) for my insurance on my 335i, through Hastings Premier.

I used Moneysupermarket.com the last couple of years.

She's slightly less for her little MX5.

I've heard of others where this is true but mine always works out cheaper on the multicar.
I've been with admiral for years and made 2 claims in the past that were hassle free.
Another thing I've found with admiral though is it's more expensive to insure a car kept in a garage, it's cheaper if left on the drive and even cheaper if left on the street.

I'm with LV and have been for a few years now. They were cheapest by far-I gave A plan a try as their branch is local and I used to have a policy with them, but they couldn't compare.

Its utterly pointless asking who others are with, unless you have exactly the same stats your quotes are never going to be similar. A cheap place for one person could be the most expensive for another.

All you can do is literally get quotes yourself and try changing certain things such as parking on the road is usually cheaper than parking on the drive or in a garage!
Add a named family member, some will make it go up and some go down.
Its just a case of experimenting.

I paid £195 last year for my E91 330d, but that is a combination of having a very low risk postcode, 42 years old, no points, full NCB and parked in a secure work car park at night.
There's no point saying who its with, because your details won't match mine!

Any idea why "parking on street" is cheaper than "on the driveway"?

same here used sky over the years always been good, always use independent brokers I'd never use a compare site, don't trust them at all, they seem to quote the company that give the most commission to them
