Car is a Mess, needs Programmed.. Will I loose HP?

Well First BMW f uped installing my Quaife diff, I had too pay for the installation at 150 euros and hours Twice, and two times for the mechanical work to do so..

Then my Heater is broke and the delaership calls me to tell me that they need to reprogram the new heater unit..

They tell me to please come down to the dealership and remove my Procede or else the Spare Diff they supplied me and all the work and everything with the heater being broken will no longer warrarntied if they find the procede throwing codes or rejecting the new software update..

So im going to the dealership now to remove the procede in their garage..
I really didnt want my ECU to be updated but it will have to be..

Will my procede function just as well with the new ECU program, and will i loose any performance by them doing this..

Wish me luck

BTW the dealer is here in Germany...

You will not lose any power. The reprogram will not effect it one bit.

If they fucked up the diff install why did you have to pay again?

My understanding is that they claim that if BMW AG finds the LSD they installed, the new heater will not be under warranty: so they ask him to remove the PROcede and they will remove the LSD at his expenses in order to re-program the car. Then they will re-install the LSD and let him reinstall PROcede.

Pretty nasty.

Sounds like customer service in Germany to me. I know for DHL, you have to pay per minute to call customer service 800 numbers, which is free in the US...

Because it is a Stealership

They told me no warranty on installing the LSD

Then they broke it putting it in,

I had to pay for Quaife to do the work on a new diff, BMW supplied me a new Oem diff with the bearings under warranty. Then i had to pay for them to re install the new quaife diff..

Basically I paid for the Install 2ce.. I know its BS.. but thats the Dealership, its just a lot of finger pointing etc.. and i just want my car back. I cant win in this situation so im just gonna pay it.

The heater to be repaired needs to accept the new programming and such, and they were worried my chip would interefere with this esp when sending BMW the readouts of my ECU for the warranty work.. So i had to remove it.. that would also help the warranty on giving me a new Diff for the bearings that we needed to repair the quaife they broke..

Its a long story.. i still dont have the car back .. its been close to 7 weeks now.. I went for a testdrive yesterday, and it seems like the Quaife diff is still thunking around. I wont know if the bearings are shot again for another couple of days.. If so, then Mr Bird who sold the quaife will personally fly down and do the install for me again.. But this would mean paying for a 3rd diff and 3rd time install which im not willing to do anymore.. it has cost me close to 5k just for this diff issue, and im not done with it yet. although as far as i know It is the delaership that wasnt competent enough to do the job..

Big mess, very expensive, and i bet you anything the heating system is still broken and they dont know how to repair it

Bro,

Sorry you got screwed around on the Quaife LSD, that sounds pretty shitty to me. If you paid them to do an install and they didn't do it correctly, it THEIR fault... Hell you could've installed it wrong for free. I cannot imagine paying for another LSD or even a re-install.. all that would be on whom ever installed it. Thats why your paying them... their professionals!

But your piggyback is not a "chip" it doesn't program anything and your ECU is not altered by the PRocede. All it does is steal signals comming back from the engine to the ECU and fools them. If your dealer has to reprogram your ECU, a piggy shouldn't have any effect... less they are doing diagnostics or engine tuning.

BTW I think your getting "hosed" by this dealer... you've offered up too much money already and I think their taking you for a sucker!

+1000!!! I feel your pain buddy.. That stealership you're going to is taking you for Santa Claus. Have you considered seeking some legal advice in this issue?

this is bad. maybe a lesson to the others - if u need LSD, get the whole pre-assembled pumpkin. Not too much to mess up with that.

Sorry, man, good luck. I assume it's the last time that dealer sees your car, right?
