My titanium silver e92 330i :)
Well had my car for a week now and thought I'd get some pics up.
Got it from bmw on the south coast. Managed to get them to tint the windows and throw in 2 years warranty with it aswell. Really pleased with it. It's got an aftermarket fiscon bluetooth unit on it which isn't working properly. Also got a slight whine from the brakes when pulling off but I think this may be where it's been sitting around as haven't heard it today. Also got a squeaky brake pedal but these are all being sorted so no big issue. Anyway pics lol Hoping to do some mods in the next few months, m3 spoiler, rear splitter replacement, electric folding mirrors. |

Well the nearest bmw garage had a white 335i on a 59 plate so pre lci but wanted 21k. It had 40k mileage and the payments were quite a bit more then I wanted. The 330 was 2k cheaper, lower mileage and the guy managed to get the Apr lowered from the usual 10.9 %. Not by much but enough to make it even more enticing. Plus they were the only place that agreed to a 2 year warranty without any fuss and offered to get the tints done as part of the deal.
Also the 335 is just that bit dearer to run, this is our main car now and I needed something the Mrs could use without draining her bank account on fuel and insurance. Also after driving the 330 I seemed to prefer it over the 335i. I traded in a golf r so was used to the turbo kick but actually enjoyed the smoothness of the 330 over the 335. Also being auto I was worried about losing that connection, the 335 you just plant it and its gone but the 330 you need to interact still and work it to get the best and that I enjoyed. Originally I was after the 335 because I wanted the fastest car (non m) you know but after driving the 330 I was more then happy with it. Will be looking at m3s next once we've bought our house Also no turbos to worry about, yes I have the warranty but it's more the inconvenience. I know all cars can have issues but the 330 just seems that bit more reliable. |

Thanks mate, I think in the real world the extra 1s isn't going to make that much difference. I've got an 8 year old daughter and the golf was just an animal and quite a few times she moaned about the aggressive nature of it even trying to be smooth on the accelerator. Because it had that lag it would kick you back more when the power initially went down and that was my worry with the 335.
The 330 is just so smooth, yes you can get planted back in your seat but you do need to floor it and overall it's just a relaxing car with a good amount of power on tap. I don't keep cars long but this one I think I could have for quite some time. |
