Upgrading sounds

Need a better system for my car.

What's the best sounds within a decent budget.

Full door speakers with an amp and maybe a small sub.

The 330i currently has speakers under the seats too, not sure if all of them come like That

It depends what you call a decent budget, I had a full GLADEN Mosconi install, from memory it worked out around £1k

There actually subs under the seats that produce no bass lol

Correct term 'mid bass speakers'.

Subs were installed on hi-fi, logic 7 system and individual sound systems.

+1

It all depends on the budget.

Unfortunately, decent sound system cost fortune and hence I am avoiding tweaking sound system on F10. I know that it will take £1 out of my pocket easily.

On the other side, if you dont car then I have seen many people buying cheap £50 sub with junky amp. Connect it in the boot and wire it to rear speakers without knowing that rear speakers are hi-passed

Haha knew it was supposed to produce some sort of bass but they dont, cant beleive how poor base systems are in a 30k+ car

I have the hifi system and would love to put a small sub in the boot but cant get my head round all the wiring. Its hard to do anything 'decent' without spending a grand

They do. Disconnect them and play some dance music and hear the difference I know you can do better, but in my experience, the last 3 different cars I've had (all decent new ones) the BMW Professional I have with the under seat subs is the best by far.

Yes if you have the professional system i would hope its a hundred times better than the base system, ive added hi-fi tweeters but theres just no bass in the car, and being a house music lover its not doing anything for me, think i need to look in to installing earthquakes and an amp

I fitted Rainbow door mids, tweeters and under seat subs. Powered by a Rainbow amp that is fed a nice clean signal from an Audison Bit 10.

I listen to house and it's brilliant.

Can i ask how much the setup cost you?
Im not looking for the worlds best but just something a bit more clearer and with a bit of kick to the bass at a reasonable cost

This is where I'm really stuck, I've got a CCC Professional head unit the sound was woefull TBH as we all know so along with a Dension 500 I had some one who dies some work for us to as he also dies audio to to a 'upgrade' amp wise I've got a JL XD 600/6 which I understand is half decent along with Focal front & rear speakers and underseat wise I can't remember but I thought it was JL(but could be wrong)and a Audison SLI 4 speaker level interface(whatever that is) sound wise it's a marked improvement over stock it was'tuned'I'm happyish with it but know there's impeovements to be had but where to go/what is needed is for me way above my head TBH.

From what I know you can have the best equipment poorly setup or some moderately priced equipment set up correctly to sound great... Way beyond me though but something I'd like to explore one day.

Speakers £480
Amp £350 ish
Bit ten £300

Install costs were £350-£400, but to be honest, having seen whats involved (and done the write up below for others benefit), i'd definitely have done it myself if I knew it was so straight forward. I got the gear for free though, so to be honest, figured I'd let someone else do the install.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=russbmw

The Bit 10 was an absolute necessity - not only in terms of sound quality but also giving you the option to expand the system very easily in future. The amp could be anything you want really, so needn't be so expensive.

I'm really happy with the setup though. It sounds like I have a boxed 10" sub in the boot, and you can feel the bass as well. Obviously not quite as much as a massive sub, but I have to be honest, it's not far off - and that's coming from a system in my previous e46 3330 coupe that was pretty decent, part of which was a boxed JL 13w1 running off a 600w amp.
