Might switch back to 18" from 19" on my e93
Hello all. I originally bought my car with some aftermarket wheels installed. ASA 19" with 235/35/19 tires all around. I do like the fuller look of 19" wheels, but I'm not super thrilled with the wheel style, they seem a bit "bro". They also have some decent rashing, and one or more are bent with a slight shake in steering wheel. Pic is from when I first got the car.
So I also happen to have a set of 18's from what I can tell online is style 396 from an f30. Not a super big fan of the smaller 18" style, BUT tires are cheaper and more plentiful, I live downtown with many rough roads, and they are all straight/true with no curb rash. The situation is: Two of the tires on the current 19" set are finished, so I can:
Any advice is appreciated! I've been pondering these two options all day and can not decide! Last edited by KhelMP2013; 02-23-2015 at 07:45 PM.. |

i'd go with option two.
I think the wheels you have on now should go, and don't look back. i'm not a huge fan of those stock wheels that you have listed either, however i'd prefer those to what you have now.. goodluck! |

True, neither option I'm SUPER excited about. But I've been checking craigslist every few days in the hopes of finding some cheap style 162 or 189 wheels but no luck yet. I'm trying to get a feel for what these 18's will look like on my car first, but I can't find a single e93 with them via google. The only images are of f30 sedans it seems, where they came with winter package? models. Don't seem very common.

Ya I wish I could get a pair of the 230's, been checking local stuff like Craigslist recently. Maybe I'll expand to Atlanta to look. Unfortunately all I have now are some 396 from a newer f30 that I picked up for dirt cheap off Craigslist a while back. http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/396 |

If you're open to inexpensive aftermarket wheels that look stock, I can recommend the Rial X10's from Tire Rack. I've got a set of the 17's and they've held up well.
