News from Canon today, 400D or XTi is "old", the new 450d or XSi its on its way.

I've always wanted a DSLR, this is such a tempting camera to buy. Still 900 dollars isn't exactly pocket change

For new DSLR buyers, this is great. For those of us that already have XT or XTI's, its not going to be worth it just to upgrade.

The next DSLR i get will definitely NOT be a crop body.

ya, that IS lens is nice. IS makes such a huge difference i think.

I ended up getting myself a Sigma 18-200 lens with optical stabilization. Its a good all around lens i think even though its not as clear obviously as a L glass lens.

It's pretty nice, but for the price I bought mine I can't complain. Liveview is great for certain situations...

I like the Liveview, especially on tripod.

my 350D doesnt say 350D... it says Rebel XTI. why is that? its the 8megapixel one.

US sometimes uses different names than Europe for consumer electronic, like cameras.

So 300D is Rebel
350D is Rebel XT
400D id Rebel XTi
450D is Rebel XSi

I've been wanting a dSLR for a while now and I've been waiting for the XSi to come out.......to see if the XTi price drops even further.

The XTi would be plenty for me anyhow and I don't need the latest/greatest.

And damn...that 800mm glass is sick!
