v2 datalog
so here is my first datalog:
335xi, 93 octane, 90% stock settings. I followed the directions from the logging thread: 2nd gear at around 40mph, shift into 3rd and take it to about 110mph. i'm too tired to actually adjust settings tonight and do more logging... but does this datalog tell anyone anything? Was this run 1st, 2nd and a little bit of 3rd. gear? If so, you won't get much data from 1st. gear, 2nd gear is kinda ok but you are not getting the full boost; just my suggestion, trying doing 2nd and 3rd gear runs, start at around 2500 on second gear and take it all the way to redline in 3rd. gear, this way you'll have a more consistent boost level. Another run you could do is from 1st gear to 4th gear redline runs (well, as much rpm in 4th. gear before you run out of road at least).

How long has this been adapting? It looks like a pretty fresh install to me. After mine adapted for a couple of weeks, I got a nice flat plateau on the boost curve in each gear, with boost tapering off about 2 pounds toward redline. Those boost graphs look kinda nasty to me.

I followed the directions from the datalogging thread. I started in 2nd gear at about 40mph, floor it.. quickly shift to 3rd and run until nearly 110.

I installed this yesterday, so I would say it's a pretty fresh install

I just installed this v2 last week and i was a bit comfused how this torque adjustment works. It was give to us at 90% settings, and were supposed to do long pulls from 1st to 4th at wot. Watch the boost correct? and make sure it doesnt exceed 15lbs. I have mine set at 94% right now cause it consistently gives me 14.5-15lbs boost in every gear. If i put 100 octane does that mean i can set it to 100%. Wont this pass 15lbs of boost, im a little confused, i use 93 octane if bring it to 96 octane can i raise to 96%. Any help would be appreciated.

Raising the torque settings don't always raise boost. Some guys have bumped
from 90,92,94 and have not seen boost raise much if any. It might make the timing more aggressive which needs higher octane. I would not go over the 14.5 psi regardless of which gas your using. JP's log has his at 14.4 at 5000 rpms in 3rd gear and then tapering as it should. Maybe He bumps to 92 it could be 14.5 or 14.6? Keep in mind this log is in 20 degree weather. Warm weather it may read higher. I say be happy with 14+ |
