DIY - ///M Trunk Lip Spoiler for E92
Received it from the dealer:
![]() Following items arrived with the purchase of the spoiler and are needed for the install. ![]() Picture of it un-painted ![]() First things, first...Get it PAINTED! ![]() Now that that's done...follow these guidelines... DISCLAIMER Attempt this at your own risk. I am not responsible for faulty items nor mis-interpretation of my guidelines. This is simply what I did to get the result that I wanted to achieve. STEP 1: Place the 2 corner double-sided tapes. (NOTE: Do NOT remove red strip until prompted. ![]() STEP 2: Have a cutter handy as you will need it to cut the double-sided tape that will flow in the middle as they provide you with a bit much. ![]() STEP 3: Once all the double-sided tape is in place on the bottom of the spoiler, it is time to do some testing. ![]() STEP 4: TESTING.. When doing testing, do NOT be alarm if it looks as if it crooked as you will steer it (bend) as you mount it. STEP 5: It's time to mount it! ****Be EXTRA careful as the glue on the double-sided tape will stick to your trunk very quickly.**** Remove the strip from the middle part ONLY! Leave the corner red strip on when mounting. It's a 2 step process. Do not worry, you will be able to remove the red strip once the middle part is mounted. ![]() Picture of the spoiler mounted with the corner red strips still on. ![]() STEP 6: Remove the corner red strips simultaneously as you angle the spoiler to fit your trunk perfectly! Your Done! Now be proud of yourself!... ![]() ![]() BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS ![]() ![]() I would like to thank my good old buddy Duck who kept me company! ![]()

with precision. I try it several times on how it will fit. When it was go time, i just aligned it from the left corner side of where I pictured it from all the testings and dropped it to perfection. That's the benefit of leaving the corner red strip last to remove.

Great write-up EHDEN, I purchased a replica one from M Force, and I am not sure if it comes with the doublesided tape. In that case, what is recommended to use?

Does anyone know the part number for the OEM M3 E90 & E92 trunk lip spoiler? I've got a 335i sedan on order and I've spoken to dealer re m3 lip spoiler - i keep getting different part numbers , want to make sure the right part is ordered.
Thanks! |

My only worry is aligning and centering it when your ready to drop it on the trunk. If you screw it up, you have to remove it and it might make a huge mess.

Hi guys,
I had the bodyshop installed it for me but they screwed up! When they asked me if I would put it on myself I should have said yes. They placed it too close to the edge, should have been 1/4 inch from the edge. I can buy new double sided tape from the dealer to re-do it but who can tell me how to remove it without damaging the paint on the trunk. Would a fishline or dental floss work? I mean like some people removing the number badge. Thanks in advance for all the help. ![]() |

some have it flushed and some like it in alittle...Its more about preference...Its not wrong either way...Most people have it flushed...If you can live with it that way, which isn't wrong, I would leave it on because its a bitch to get the tape off...You have to get every inch of tape residue off before you apply the new tape on...I would leave it because like I said most member here have it flushed.
