Cobb tuning chargepipe reviews?
Hello guys
I'm going to order a charge pipe for my 335i stage 3 500hp, I just ordered Forge DV with yellow spring. I have 20.5 psi on my map 6 JB4, I still have the oem chargepipe but for how long I want to try a 22psi map6 so I want to change my charge pipe before, I found on the Cobb site a chargepipe pretty cheeper, it's seem to have a very good quality but no review on the net. Anyone have this on his car? Shoul I try the BMS one to be sure? Thanks. |

Ah 1$, great
To be serious, I prefer the looking of the Cobb one but the clamp look stronger on the VRSF... I'll check that, it will depend of the shipping price for Switzerland or France since I have an adress for both. Last edited by rif75; 03-04-2015 at 01:24 PM.. |

Love the finish on the Cobb charge pipe. Buddy of mine got it too bad they get covered in dirt in no time.

Cobb doesn't push garbage so I'm sure it's every bit as good as the others. In my opinion, what sets them apart is the connection to the TB and the positioning of the meth bungs. The Stett used a boot to connect to te TB while ER and most others maintain the use of the stock C clip.

I just installed my Cobb and am very pleased with it. But like others said, it's a matter of preference.

This, I am a BIG fan of Cobb as their products are designed well and are excellent quality. I went with the VRSF because of the price and known quality. Use the Cobb instrux. as a guide to install the VRSF..very helpful. GL in your purchase. The aftermarket CP is needed.

I got the ER CP and Tial BOV combo.
Very happy No matter what you got to change out that stock CP before you end up with bits of plastic through ur turbos.... no one wants plastic in their turbos |

That's not what I was implying. In fact, I don't really think there is much of a difference between the metal charge pipes aside from connection to the TB and the position of meth bungs. They are all good. Never heard of anyone blowing up a metal pipe and if they did, they probably have some other issues they need to address. What I was meaning is that Cobb would not release a sub par product as they are a very reputable company since that was the concern of the OP.

Charge pipe was delivered and installed yesterday. Oem one was easy to take off but, installing the new one was a little tricky because of product being solid and not flexible. Once installed, I switched my JB4 to map 5 and did a couple pulls and I am very satisfied with the product. Also no fitment problem with the c-clip. Next is Forge DV.

Not sure which one you ordered...the vrsf version for dv's will have fitment issues with the forge DVs, they will rub each other and lean against the metal in the engine bay. You can use some spacers or wedge some rubber grommets in there to help. In my case wish I would have known, would have gotten ER dv version instead.
