Question Is the pre-lci e90 325i worth remapping?

As above really. Just wondered if this was worth the money and would it make a noticeable improvement over the standard map.

You will see a improvent in throttle response and removing any lags in revs, but gains will be very minimal.

It is worth doing we've done several and have been surprised by the outcome power wise on raw figures it's no 335i in terms of power but in terms of throttle response, in town behaviour, low / mid range torque and actually fuel economy you do get your money's worth. If you've got a free flow air filter this 'may' help the situation plus of course the cars diet (use decent fuel-ideally super unleaded at all times and don't get to the stage of running too low on fuel) plus to move forward if your car has a in line fuel filter change (most have a i tank filter )that too to ensure good fuel flow, pressure and fuel cleanliness is maintained.

We've done a few 318i's and 320i's as well and despite what you see on paper the differences are quite startling.

I can't see it making any difference at all. What do you change from Standard?

I'd be happy with more torque low down and mid range. Also better mpg sounds good. Win win situation. What sort of price would I be looking at for the remap?

What can you do to a humble 2008 e93 320i Steve? After a rocky period my local dealer has finally got it running without any issues. Would chipping / tuning increase these chances of running issues to return?

it does make a difference it is small but notable, send me a PM as of course out in the open forum rules and all that can't divulge any data. To be 100% need the cars registration number

You make subtle alterations to things like ignition timing etc.(different cars ECU's will allow you more/less scope to carry out the required alterations) and together you unlock potential that's been locked away by the manufacturer as they design the ECU/Car to run in all markets using all fuel types therefore if you're cars solely going to be used in the UK by simply ensuring the ECU's set up to use the fuel sold here you start unlocking potential, the differences are small but are noticeable out on the road

ive been thinking about having this done for ages. there is a noticeable lag around 2-2.5k, once u get past that to around 3-4k it does move some what and its very apparent around town driving.
its finding someone reputable tho in ur locality thats the next step i guess.

Yo can if you listen to the customer individual requirements concentrate on certain areas(frustrations)and really make a difference to the overall driving expieriencing chasing raw power isn't the only reason a remap is around for general drivability, and refinment can all be to a degree(car dependent)tailored to suit an individual's driving irritations it's difficukt to highlight everything by words on a post but when a customer asks a question we listen the info given is used to create tge end product the cars driven if tge end product matches tge customers requirement and we are happy with tge drive the customers invited to drive the car if we feel the map in our eyes lacks/falls short/doesn't feel right it's re done with the first impression niggles included.

Off the peg maps usually work OK (tried tested and for many that's fine)if you want to move the boundary's a little to suit a particular customer/need you'll sometimes have to shuffle the pack to get it just right, hence for us we take our time and it's a 100% non waiting service.

But in the normally aspirated cars tge ones we've done have all been surprising

Manifold conversion is the best route.
