LSD fluid question
I heard the LSD differentials should have the fluids changed after being "broken in" around 500 miles or so. I was wondering what kind of fluid would be the best to use; price isn't an issue. any ideas?

Most diff builders recommend or spec a certain type of fluid.
For example, Diffsonline has spec'd Redline 75w90 for street and 75w140 for race Fill IIRC is under 2 Quarts, but over 1. |

correct me if I'm wrong, but you only need an LSD specific fluid for a clutch type differential. I don't think a helical/torsen style needs a specific fluid. The difference is the clutch types need friction modifiers so the clutches don't chatter.

This applies as well for any helical assembly. Per DiffsOnline: Quote:
