Whats wrong with my gp thunder 7500k?
Hi guys, i wanted a fast, cheap way for white angel eyes, so with the amazing reviews i went for gp thunders. The problem is its not even half the white they are on other peoples cars, did i buy something wrong? Here is a daytime shot i just took, dont mind the bugs was a long drive from miami

Lol they're extremely under powered halogen bulbs. They won't give you the performance you're looking for you. You need LED bulbs (they're okay, not perfect) or full LED replacement rings if you want super bright angel eyes even in the daytime.

From that picture they do look very yellow still. The biggest problem with any haologen bulb is you are taking a filament that produces a warm white, and putting a blue coating on it. While the blue coating filters out most of the yellow it still can produce a yellow color. This is especially true when th bulbs are underpowered, and the BMW Angel eyes are always underpowered to reduce the heat and lifespan.
If you are looking for a true white color then LED is the best way to go with these. LED's can be a pure white color and the ones used for angel eyes are generally a 5000k to 6500K color depending on the model. They will never turn yellowish and stay at a pure color all the time. As an example we offer our LUX H8 V5 angel eyes which are rated at 5000K but are also adjustable up to a 12,000K color. They do not dim so they will be as bright as possible and are even 1.5x brighter than the stock bulbs. Let me know if you have any other questions with these that we can assist with. |

At the picture the car was on, with headlights on there is almost no difference between oem and gps. The only time i can see somewhat of a white is at night ONLY at the inner ring and even then its not as white as the other peoples daylight pics.
Stupid question but there is no way i can install them backwards to the socket or something right? |

I had similar results on my car. If you actually look at them from about 30' away though, they look much better. With the headlights on, because they dim, there is not much difference from stock. With just the DRL's on, they are whiter than stock I found. I also think there is a difference between LCI and pre-LCI when installing the GP bulbs too. The pre-LCI seem to look better. I'll see if I can get some pics for comparison. I tried the GP 8500k bulbs also and the results were not much better. Looked good from far away, but gave off a very green light close up on the outer ring.

I got them from E92 Lighting. To be clear, in my shot the engine is running and the headlights are off. With the headlights on, they dim and look amber. The picture makes them look better than they are. You may be expecting too much.

Yeah they are a little bit yellowish when dimmed with headlights on but the thing is there is still a huge difference between your aes and mines. i will take a night shot with engine on, headlights off just to be sure

Here's a deal for you, Sha: I have a pair of GP Thunder 7500k that I bought from E92 Lighting for my fogs, which I used for less than an hour. They were bright enough but I decided to go to yellow fogs (which I love) for both form and function.
You can have these (genuine GP Thunder 7500k) bulbs for $5 plus shipping. How's that for a deal? ![]() If you don't want them, the offer stands for anyone who does. I also have a pair of Philips Diamond Vision 5000k (with less than an hour on them, too) that I will let go for $20 + shipping (normally $49.99 on eBay) Just PM me. ![]()
