Anyone used Kumho KU39's before?
Rear tyres on my E92 (MV4's) will need replacing soon. Found these for a good price, anyone tried them, the only cars I've found reviews with are Honda Jazz's (or alike) would like a review from someone in a Beamer really

Got them on all 4 corners of my 330i. Run them since Dec and done about 250 miles. So far absolutely no complaints. Road noise is good, not great like Vred Sessanta, Wet grip, Good, but not great like Goodyears. Dry grip is Very Good!
Looks, good but not as good looking as the Sessanta Would i buy them again.....Yes! if i could not afford the Vreds!

Had them on my e39 528, e46 325 and e46 330.
I think they're great TBH. |

Thanks for the replies, didn't think the opinions would be much different but just for peace of mind I guess, they look like the most likely option at the moment. I have been eying up the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx's too, a little more expensive at £80 more for a pair of tears but also not one bad review :

OK for the money but lasted 6 month for me. Would not buy again. The Nankang that my car came with where grippier and lasted 3x as long! Falken 453 were even worse. Plenty of better tyres out there for the money.

They were brilliant and my only complaint was grip in wet weather. There are defo better than many others but wet weather grip was slightly less than Pirelli.

Grip and longevity dont come hand in hand, its either one or the other or you buy a tyre that has a combination of both |

You have literally contradicted yourself lol I never said the Nankangs were grippy? I said they were grippier in comparison to the others. It was a shock to me too given what I had read. As I say i went from Nankangs to 453's and lastly KU39 one after the other in under a 2 year period. Nankangs were the best, KU39 never had the outright grip of the Nankangs and seemed to get through the tread quicker and the 453's bearly lasted 6 months and had grip levels similar to the KU39 and were less predicatble on the limit. I drive around 8k per year so the 453s probably did around 4k, the Kuhmos did around 6-7k and where getting close to needing replacing when i sold it. Ive tried alot of different well respected tyres and i wont be buying the Kuhmos or Falkens again. There cheap, but in there case you certainly get what you pay for. Not a bad thing but i think theres better out there for similar or just a few £'s more. |

What are you driving..?
I got well over 6k out of my KU39 rears before getting a nail in one. And when I swapped them they still had ~ 40 - 50% left! I would agree they are a little soft but, I would go as far as to say they offer good grip for the longevity they offer. WM |

I was driving a e60, which given is abit heaver than e92, however the platform is very similar and the basis of the comparisons stayed the same.
Geometry was checked twice in that period and tyres wore evenly. One thing they did have going for them was that the break away was quite predictive which i feel is important in a decently powerful rwd car. Im not saying there a bad tyre, there just average and i dont feel they offered anything that would make me go back. Ive found Hankooks, continentals and Federals better at a similar price point. Currently running MPS on my e90 but when they need replacing I want a grippy summer tyre. I like the sound of the MPSS, however given my experience I am half tempted to try the relatively new Nankang NS2R's. |

Not really Lots of grip (short tyre life) No grip (long tyre life) Average grip (average tyre life) Thats what i ment You cant have a super sticky race slick and expect 20k out of it for example |

Now that makes more sense... however it is still a very basic way of looking at it. You can still have an average tyre thats grippier and out lasts another average tyre. |
