New Bmw oil

I don't know if anyone is aware but Bmw now has new oil. It's called twinpower turbo 5w30 oil specifically for n54/n55 engines. Does anyone have any info on it ?

Interesting... I've never seen it.

Quote from Turner motorsports site- "In January 2015 BMW changed official oil suppliers from Castrol to Shell. The new oils are designed to meet requirements of both the newer engines as well as older BMW's. This oil can be used in cars with either normally aspirated and or turbocharged engines."

Sounds like BMW got a new jug, with a fancy label. I'd also like to know what makes this oil any better than the others, especially when it's supposedly designed for the N54/N55.

I mean it's not only for those two engines it's for all the gasoline bmw engines out now , and they have a separate oil for just diesel . This new oil is amazing compared to the previous Castrol oil they had which had bad results .

It's Pennzoil Full Synthetic Platinum Euro oil with PurePlus Technology. Available at most Walmarts. BMW LL-01 approved.

There is no practical difference. The kinematic viscosity @ 100C is within 15% of each other.
