Driver side radiator drain plug and control sleeve.

Can someone tell me which way I need to turn it so I don't break off the tabs. Mine was leaking so I bought a new one. I lined up the notches, pushed the new plug into its hole and though it was all good at that point. Went for a 20 min drive, got home dry and as a bone. Went into the garage this morning and had $50 worth of coolant puddled along my garage door

I'm scared to break another one. Any insight is greatly appreciated...
