Engine Malfunction

First of e90 40,000 miles Jb4 and dci nothing else.
Recently whenever I go over 3000 rpm the car seems like it's skipping or missing (maybe something related to gearing) and the check engine light comes on, but turns off when you drive for a while. Under 3000 it runs fine. I have turned the Jb4 off, but that didn't help. Do you guys know any similar situations? Thanks.

Check the codes on the JB4

You need to pull the codes and go from there but it sounds like you need some new plugs,coils,possibly vanos even bad injectors good luck

My money is on coils.. That's pretty much exactly how they behave when they start to go. The dwell period while the coil is charging which is when the coil is under the highest amount of load occurs between 3-4k when tuned on stock turbos. Replace one or all..

Thanks for the replies! I read some old threads and this seems to be a relatively common issue. Now to the shop to see if its coils, plugs, injectors, or vanos and go from there.
