Hello guys!

Dumb question but I'm a rookie on turbos. I was installing my downpipes with my buddy. I'm at 41k miles. I noticed some white deposits on the exhaust side of my turbo. You can see from the picture. Buddy claims its normal and he is a mechanic at BMW but I wanted a second opinion from the enthusiasts on the forum.

I've seen on these forums someone post a pic of his turbo and it was completely whited out and everyone suggested that his seals were bad.

Now I'm worried because I can see some white, not sure if it's from the heat. The car pulls fine, no white smoke post DP install. No WG rattle

Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help!

If a turbo seal was bad it would be black with oil not white, the white is usually normal.
