Self levelling Xenons messed up after replacing top mounts

I got my front top mounts replaced with OE ones on Friday and now my headlights aren't self levelling properly.

Before when i started up, the lights would go down and then up. No the just go a bit down and not up! So when driving at night its too low.

What did the garage mess up?

Did they plug the sensors back in..? I'm sure the height sensors are on the front suspension.

Would seem the logical answer you've got the level sensor as well as a ride height sensor unit to contend with on the front suspension plus the rods, but an unplugged sensor might be the cause of the issue

It should just need popping back on.

So it was the rod had to be that or the sensor Mo it was all I could think of.

I think getting it back on if it won't relocate with your efforts don't force it just in case. It might be worth applying a bit of grease to the ball and a decent tap as a last attempt to see if this will help matters but failing that a garage re visit

A little blob of grease is a good idea.

Thanks chaps.

I put it back together how it is so will try tomorrow evening with some grease and gove it a couple of whacks. If all else fails i'll take it back to the garage.

P.S Would've come to see you steve but needed the top mounts on ASAP and know how busy you are on Saturdays!

You could try a G-clamp or make a tourniquet with a strong leather belt.

Just took it back and they sorted it in less than 2 minutes. All good now!

It's usually always the level sensor arm that either garages forget to remove and it snaps or as there they forget to clip it back on.

A pair of pliers can usually apply enough force to clamp it back on but good it's sorted.
