Torque wrench for DIY oil change?

The last two DIY oil change documents I've looked at were using a standard 17 mm socket wrench on the drain bolt. Could have sworn when I was reading up on my old e46, it was suggested to use a torque wrench. Should we not be using a torque wrench on our new e9X's?

socket will do the trick just fine... just make sure it's secure and threaded in right and never overtighten
