Long story short, ECS sent me an replacement filter for the open packaged, dirty, and possibly used filter that I received (no idea how that happened... and they couldn't figure out either) Since I was the impatient kind, by the time I received the replacement filter, I have already washed and reoil the old one that I received. At least the good thing about these is that they are 100% reusable...

Anyway, I got a spare, brand new Pipercross Performance Foam filter for N54 engine for sale. Since I am still running stock turbo and intake inlets, the seat-of-pant performance difference is a little hard to notice on a 3600lbs car without a proper dyno comparsion, particularly on a turbo engine. But I have similar foam filter on my bike, with a NA engine, the power increase was quite noticeable.

Btw, I will let these go for $40, since ECS sells them at $50 (http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-335...ter/ES2626398/). The filter come pre-oiled, so just drop them in and you are good to go.
