Catted / Catless Downpipes?

Hi guys,

I was wanting to buy the RISS Racing Catless Downpipes (to install with Stage 1 -- same stuff as Shiv's car).. however I couldn't place a order with them.. It goes to the Google Checkout and just stops (can't pay).. is there another downpipes that is recommended?

Got this from the forums faq:

Downpipes/Straightpipes:
Riss Racing Downpipes (Cat-less)
SuperSprint Downpipes (Cat-less)
Ultimate Racing Downpipes (Cat-less,Catted)

Thanks

UR's are a good brand as well, and only cost around $700....

I have UR Catless downpipes...I felt an immediate power increase..I just need to get the o2 Sims from Terry to get rid of the pesky engine lights.

so it seems catless downpipes will cause an engine light problem?? Will the catted ones also do that? I have seen however that the catless ones provide more power..

We only lost about 6 peak whp going from catless to our metal substrate high-flow catted downpipes. They flow very well and do not seem to be triggering any CEL's

I've had the UR catted dp for over 6 weeks. No CEL's and power feels right.

I'm waiting for my Eisenmann Meisterschaft system. I ordered in November with an expected mid-January delivery date . . .

Still waiting. :-(

Did you get the full system or just sec 3? I'd like to hear HFC DPs + 2ndary cat/resonator delete and mufflers.

Don't forget, those of us with 335xi's have NO CHOICE but to go with catless, or it's stock.

Sure it is an old thread. But The Revival is something we will see often here on E90post. Anyway, it is a good thread for people who are currently trying to choose between catted or catless downpipes. Pros n cons n such... From what I have heard and read, catted downpipes are better because they don't trigger codes, but they will eventually . Also catted=less HP?, While the catless after a week trigger codes but flow better and make the turbos breath more?! Catless= more HP? I am no mechanic just what I have read and heard. Maybe more people can chime in. Credence!!!
