Ok. I want to switch careers to something either more fun or fascinating, even willing to make less money. I started applying and I don't even get a reply because they probably think I'm overqualified and not serious. Sigh.

Story of my life. There's this lingering feeling that nothing will ever be up to the same standards as myself. Such is life, just continue being awesome.

I was a global risk/ retail security manager and now consulting so it's not consistent. I have a criminology degree.
The areas that so far look interesting to me are: (...edited out, sorry)
So I'm willing to start at entry level but no luck.

Squishy: I have a cold, thanks for asking! I hope you're well.

bimmette: I'm with you 100%. I really want to make a career change and also willing to take less money to get the ball rolling. But with my IT background, I don't think my resume gets looked at much when I apply to non-IT jobs. I even got shunned for an IT recruiter position. My understanding is that's seen more as a sales type of position. Of course, I have no sales experience.
I may just go work in Chipotle to at least get free burritos

The areas that so far look interesting to me are: The lesson here - be kind to others..never know when you'll need them to be kind to you.
So I'm willing to start at entry level but no luck.
...so, could you expand on Global Risk / Retail Security Managers - Please.

In simple terms, I was head of security for Asia and Australia for the world's largest furniture retailer.

I am intrigued, how much security does furniture need? Should I be scared of imported furniture or is someone trying to smuggle cocaine in my new dinning set?

Do you work for ikea? I wouldn't really consider that furniture....

BTW these are serious questions.

It's a multi-billion dollar company. A lot more happens than people stealing furniture.
