I am surprised the Ford didn't come higher as I have driven one of the new ones and it's a real quality product with amazingly good dynamics.

I can't understand why the BMW didn't come higher as well as I would place it ahead of the Passat, though there is no denying the A4 as top of the tree.

Eh, I say that's a bit assumptious. I'd like to know what the review is favoring most: comfort, luxury, sportiness, tech, etc. I really like the new A4 as a cruiser in the same way that I like the new C-class.

The 3, G, C, and A4 can be classified as either intro exec sedans, or sports sedans. I wouldn't doubt it if the Audi wins every test based on luxury and comfort, but I'd beg to differ if the test was more about the 'sport' in sport sedan.

I'm also curious as to how the Passat placed above the Benz, Ford and Bimmer. I've sat in 'em, ridden in 'em, and they're good, but they're not 2nd-in-class good.

Not crazy about this review...if I can call it that; More like pictures with numbers haha.

Yeh, but I'm sure it was due to pricing constraints.

An A4 1.8L against a 3 series 1.8L. Real tough to see the reasoning on that one.

Maybe I see things differently, at enter level even the 318 struggles to be classed as sportie, the engine is under powered so at this level it has to fall back on it's other qualities which are style, driving style, interior design, space and economy. With the except of possibly driving style the newer, larger A4 has it licked. I is the more striking design externally, it does have the better interior with the most space and as it's only fwd it's economy is at least on power.

This is not to say there is much wrong with the 318 because there isn't it's only that based on the models in the test the Audi is the best choice. Though I am surprised that the BMW didn't take third spot behind either the C-class or the Ford.

+1. The chassis and driving dynamics may make the 3er more sporty in general compared to the a4... but it's almost impossible to be sporty when you're that low on power.

E90 looks so ugly next to the A4... it's ugly to begin with
